As of May 16, 2024 project was canceled. No definite date for the rebid. Remove existing asphalt shingles and felt down to the roof deck, including all metal edging, valley metal, tin shingles, vents and jacks and dispose of in accordance with state and local laws. o Inspect and remove and replace in-place sheathing if existing wood sheathing needs replacement; Contractor shall contact Project Contract for inspection to roof sheathing prior to any replacement work. There will be line items in the bid to remove/replace the roof sheathing in its entirety and a per sheet (4'x8') removal/replacement if select pieces of the sheathing on the roof warrants replacement. For bidding purposes assume 5/8" OSB will be used for replacement sheathing. Field verify existing sheathing thickness and match. Contractor to execute deduct from bid of existing sheathing is of a lesser thickness and cost of 5/8" OSB. Sheathing work is a bid alternate; Contractor must provide pricing on bid alternate for bid to be considered. o Furnish and install CertainTeed Landmark asphalt shingles in the color of Charcoal Black or approved equal by Project Contact. Contractor shall field verify roof area. o Furnish and Install Ice and Water protection 6 feet up from eaves and in all valleys or per code. Install option that provides more Ice and Water protection. o Furnish and install #15 felt paper on the balance of the roof. o Furnish and install drip edging, tin shingles, valley metal, flashing, vents, and jacks where applicable and per code. o Project scope also includes small mid roof on the south side of the duplex. o The 2020 Minnesota Residential Code applies to roofs being installed in the City of Mankato. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to the Facilities Supervisor in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Facilities Supervisor in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by the Facilities Supervisor as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding.
