Bryan Texas Utilities is requesting qualifications for engineering services from firms interested in contracting with BTU for engineering and design of underground fiber optic communications conduit networks. The scope of work shall include: creation of permit ready design drawings in compliance with City of Bryan Right of Way work requirements and regulations, Union Pacific Railroad crossing requirements and Texas Department of Transportation ROW compliance. Firms with relevant experience and qualifications are encouraged to submit. The purpose of the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process is to identify the most qualified firm. It is intended that the selected firm or team accomplish and/or supply all services outlined in this Request for Qualifications. BTU has made no promises or representations and cannot offer, promise or guarantee that the selected firm will be awarded any future contracts to provide additional architectural or engineering services to BTU for this project. Selected firm will provide engineering services as follows: Outline the scope of services to be provided by the engineering firm. Detail the existing infrastructure and any pertinent information related to the requirements and constraints provided by City personnel. Identify any regulatory standards or codes that must be adhered to during the design process. Assess the existing conditions, including topography, soil type, existing utilities, and any potential obstructions. Gather relevant data to inform the design process, such as but not limited to utility maps, soil reports, and environmental assessments. Define the design criteria based on the municipality's requirements and industry standards. Specify the path, depth, and material specifications for the underground conduits based on anticipated loads and environmental factors. Develop a comprehensive plan for routing the conduits throughout the proposed location, considering factors such as accessibility, utility crossings, and any permit regulatory compliance required in the proposed area. Design any necessary support structures, such as manholes, junction boxes, and conduit supports, as defined by City personnel and propose additional assets in the best interests of the project. As needed, calculate load-bearing capacities and perform structural analyses to verify the adequacy of the design. Offeror Deliverables: Create detailed drawings and schematics of the conduit layout. detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports, to support the permitting and approval process. Provide permit ready plans in compliance with Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) or TxDOT standards outlined per project. Draft and final reports summarizing consultant's study and findings as appropriate.
