As part of its on-going road rehabilitation, the Town of Portsmouth will cause to be paved certain roads throughout the 2024-2025 paving season. The scope of this Proposal includes grinding, reshaping, compacting and asphalting existing roads. Asphalt will consist of two layers: a binder of 2" compacted thickness topped with a 1-1/2" compacted thickness finish surface course and finish Cape Cod berm with a tack coat. Other roads will be treated by milling out 1-1/2" curb to curb of the surface, leveling course (patching sections), tack coat and 1-1/2" compacted overlay. Contractor shall be responsible to remove and dispose excess material. If gravel is needed, the Town will supply the gravel from 143 Hedly Street and it will be the Contractor's responsibility for trucking and labor to install the needed material. All driveway aprons will be paved at the same time of binder and top course.
