It is expected to be let for construction in September of 2026. *Previous solicitation listed below for reference:* This RFLOI is to solicit responses (LETTERS of INTEREST, or LOIs) from qualified firms to provide professional consulting services to design the extension of Piedmont Regional Greenway in Winston-Salem, North Carolina along Kerners Mill Creek from Linville Road to Hastings Hill Road. Summary: In 2013, the City of Winston-Salem entered into an agreement with NCDOT for the acceptance of STP-DA funding for the construction of 6,500 linear feet of greenway along Kerners Mill Creek from Linville Road to Hastings Hill Road, including a pedestrian culvert under Hastings Hill Road and boardwalks. Some preliminary environmental and flood studies have been performed. This work will include but not limited to hydraulic design, location surveys, erosion control plans and permitting, preparation of construction contract proposal and estimates, and utility coordination. All applicants should be familiar with these processes and provide examples in Section III - "Project Understanding and Similar Projects". This project is approximately at 50% design completion. The selected firm will need to take the existing design and complete drainage, erosion control, erosion control permit; and finalize plans, quantities, and contract special provisions per Federal/NCDOT standards. The construction contractor will provide culvert and pedestrian boardwalk plans. Piedmont Regional Greenway is being partially funded with Federal Funds which pass through the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). Experience and thorough understanding of the FHWA and NCDOT requirements is essential. This project must adhere to all Federal and State of North Carolina standards. The firm must have the financial ability to undertake the work and assume the liability. The selected firm(s) will be required to furnish proof of Professional Liability insurance coverage in the minimum amount of $1,000,000.00. The firm(s) must have an adequate accounting system to identify costs chargeable to the project. SCOPE OF WORK The City of Winston-Salem is soliciting proposals for the services of a firm/team for the following contract scope of work: 1. Designing approximately 6,500 linear feet of greenway along Kerners Mill Creek from Linville Road to Hastings Hill Road. 2. This work will include, but not limited to, hydraulic design, location surveys, construction plans, and erosion control plans and permitting, and utility coordination. 3. Provide special contract provisions. 4. Preparation of construction plans, including Engineer's Opinion of Probable Cost with proposed quantities and unit costs. PROPOSED CONTRACT TIME: From Notice To Proceed until project completion, anticipated completion date of December 31, 2025. PROPOSED CONTRACT PAYMENT TYPE: Proposed Contract Payment Type - i.e. LUMP SUM; NOT TO EXCEED negotiated price, to be invoiced no more than once every 30 days.
