Renovation of a mixed-use development in Eureka, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility; and municipal facility.

https://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/news/2024/05/03/eureka-government-center-construction-wiegand.html Construction is underway on a new $11.5 million government center in Eureka. The new building to house Eureka's government operations will replace the city's former city hall, which was demolished beginning in January. The new government center is being built at the same site, at 100 City Hall Drive, and will house the police department and municipal court, as well as city offices. INTEGRATE The new 30,000-square-foot building is scheduled for completion in December, with Integrate Construction Partners serving as general contractor, according to a news release from the company. The architect for the project is Kirkwood-based Archimages Inc., and the construction consulting firm is Navigate Building Solutions of St. Louis. The new building will be named the Michael A. Wiegand Justice Center, after Eureka's police chief. The city announced in May 2021 that the building would be named for Wiegand, who joined the city as a police officer in 1976 and was first elected chief in 1987. While the project is being built, Eureka city employees are working from temporary offices at the public works building at 111 N. Virginia Ave. while the police and courts remain in their current building at 120 City Drive during the new facility's construction. The project is funded by a half-cent sales tax approved by voters in April 2018, called Proposition E. In addition to the new building, Prop E proceeds are being used to replace the deteriorating Allenton Bridge, which runs over railroad tracks, and for flood mitigation. Voters across the region last month approved a number of bond issues for new city government buildings, school district improvements and sewer upgrades. ____________ The City of Eureka is requesting qualifications from firms or individuals for the development of a signage and visual display package for a new Government Center comprised of the Eureka Police Department, City Hall and Municipal Court.
