Renovation of an educational facility in Waukegan, Illinois. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof at its sole discretion and to accept that bid which is considered in the best interest of the District. Such decisions shall be final The Bid Guarantee assures that if an award is made, the Bidder will sign a Contract and qualify for, and where required, provide a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to the Contract Sum, all within ten days following the award of a Contract. The Contractor is required to pay for and include as part of his Proposal the cost for providing a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond to cover the cost of the entire Project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof at its sole discretion and to accept that bid which is considered in the best interest of the District. Such decisions shall be final. Any bidder may withdraw his bid prior to scheduled closing time for receiving bids. All bidders shall hold their Bids open for a period of ninety calendar days from the date of bid Opening. The Owners and Bidders may agree to extend the period of irrevocability beyond the ninety-day period. Owner reserves the right to waive any or all irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures. D. The Bid Bonds of the unsuccessful Bidders will be returned after Contracts have been executed between the Owner and the successful Contractor. Each Proposal must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Bank Draft or Certified Check made payable to the order of the Board of Education, Waukegan Community Unit School District 60, Waukegan, Illinois, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid. Likewise no telephone, telegraphic, facsimile or oral modifications or revisions to a bid proposal will be considered. Proposals may also be rejected by the Owner unless properly signed in longhand by the Bidder or by his authorized Agent, and unless all dates, items and amounts called for on the BID FORM are furnished Additional building site visits shall be scheduled through Derrick Nickerson. The Architect will transmit to prospective bidders of record any addenda the Architect considers necessary in response to questions arising at the pre-bid conference Owner reserves the right to waive any or all irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS130/1-12)
