The City of LaGrange is soliciting sealed bids for labor and equipment to perform miscellaneous system maintenance tasks on its 12,470-volt electric distribution system. Examples of work that may be requested include replacing poles, upgrading conductors, changing transformers, and replacing brackets and other hardware. The Contractor will provide all necessary labor, tools, and equipment. The City will supply all materials. Work shall be performed by applicable regulations including the National Electric Safety Code and the City of LaGrange Construction Assembly Specifications. The Contractor shall fill any holes and disturbed hard surfaces with 810 granite screenings available from the Public Works facility until the City can complete permanent repairs. One of the main projects will be adding some of the phases on Davis Road to the new industrial plant site at 1475 South Davis Road. We will also need to add some lOOOkcmil underground to this same circuit on Cooley Road, but the city will install the conduit with our boring crew. We will need the contractor to install the wire and make connections. Also, the contractor will be responsible for removing old overhead at that location. There will also be a need to add some gang switches- one on Colquitt Street at the LaGrange Primary substation and another on Ragland Street. Also, connections will need to be made for new the feeder on lOOOkcmil coming out of the station. In addition, the City might also request some help with relocation across from the railroad at Newman Construction. Before performing any work under this Agreement, the City and Contractor will execute the attached Task Order outlining the specific job details and allocated time to complete the work. Tasks may vary in scope from small one-day maintenance jobs to major construction projects requiring several weeks to complete. The agreed-upon hours, labor, and equipment will determine the total amount payable for a particular task regardless of the actual hours, labor, and equipment used by the Contractor. This Agreement is not exclusive, and the City reserves the right to solicit bids for other maintenance and construction projects that may arise throughout the year. If Contractor productivity is not acceptable in the sole opinion of the City, then a meeting will be scheduled with the designated Contractor representative to discuss the situation. If productivity does not improve to a level that is acceptable to the City, this Agreement will be terminated. Please include all necessary insurance forms such as general liability, vehicle, and workers comp. Your bid will be considered incomplete without these items.
