Site work and paving for a civil project in Forsyth, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The work under this Contract will consist generally of the following: Roadway construction along an existing paved road, including traffic control, erosion control measures, and construction of +- 2 widening on each side of the road, 1,852 LF of 24" RCP, +- 1,938 LF of 30" RCP, & +- 647 LF of 18" RCP side drain & storm drain pipe, +- 4.44 CY of class A concrete headwalls & aprons, +- 0.87 Lin. Miles of mainline patching, leveling, topping, +- 2,028 TN of graded aggregate base course for widening, +- 1,563 TN of 12.5 mm RAC Superpave Asphalt, signage, striping, and all other necessary appurtenances for a complete job. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. The City of Forsyth, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in the proposals. Document : Bid shall be submitted on Bid Proposal Forms furnished for that purpose, in accordance with the Contract Documents and the Plans and Specifications which are on file and may be reviewed at the office of the Mayor and the office of Hofstadter and Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 4571 Arkwright Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. All work on the Project must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days of date of notice to proceed. No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with City of Forsyth prior to the time set forth above, and accompanied by a Bidder's Bond, payable to the City of Forsyth for 10 percent of the amount of the bid; to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required Payment Bond and Performance Bond and Insurance Certificates. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened. Question Deadline 04/16/2024 In general, no answer will be given to an oral question if the answer involves an interpretation of the intent or meaning of the Contract Documents or Plans, or the equality or use of products or methods other than those definitely designated or described on the Plans or in the Specifications. Any information given to bidders other than by means of the Plans and Contract Documents or by Addenda as described below is given informally and shall not be used as the basis of a claim against the Owner or the Engineer. To receive consideration, such questions shall be submitted in writing to the Engineer at least 7 days before the advertised date for receipt of bids. In general, the Engineer will neither approve nor disapprove particular products prior to opening of the bids; such products will be considered when offered by the Contractor for incorporation into the work.
