Renovation of an educational facility in Kent, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Security Equipment Grant More Info: A/E contact: Jeff Foster, Payto Architects. Phone Number: 216-241-6800, E-mail: jfoster@paytoarchitects.com EDGE Participation Goal: 5.0% of contract Total of all Alternates 1 thru 19 $ 370,000.00 General Contract Estimated Cost Base Bid $ 115,000.00 Domestic steel use is required per ORC 153.011. Description of Scope of Work: 1. General scope: Each contractor must include all work in their quote. There will not be any other contracts awarded by KSU to any other contractors. This will include all cameras, cabling, sleeves, conduit, roof penetrations, etc. required for a complete project. 2. All locations will require cat5e cabling (unless otherwise noted) from each camera to the closest teledata closet. a. The cat5e cable should be terminated on a patch panel in each teledata closet utilizing a numbering system provided by Kent State. b. Indoor wall mounted cameras are to be installed with appropriate drywall moly anchors. Indoor drop ceiling installations will require a tile bridge with single gang box for image stability. c. Cameras mounted outdoor, on rooftops, or have buried cabling will require grounded POE lightning protection (Ditek DTK-MRJPOE) inside the building in an accessible location as close as practical to the entrance of the cabling inside the building. d. The cabling inside the building must transition to plenum rated cable at the lightning protection module. The cabling that is to be placed on the rooftop should be riser rated and installed in sealtight conduit and foam 'bricks" (Envent part # RPS50H6EG) with built in unistrut should be placed every 4 feet with galvanized intermediate weight conduit and a concrete block used to help hold the foam bricks in alignment with each other (usually 3 bricks can be connected with a 10' long piece of conduit that is weighted down with a concrete block on a rubber protection pad). e. The conduit sections should be placed about every 30 feet and at every corner. The rooftop cat5e cabling should be placed with expansion loops sufficient to allow for adequate movement in the sealtight due to winds as well as temperature fluctuations. f. The cat5e cable should be terminated at the camera end on a biscuit jack that is to be enclosed in a weatherproof box and use a patch cord to extend the final connection to the camera. g. Each camera is to be mounted on a non penetrating stanchion/sled with protective rubber placed underneath to keep from damaging the roofing membrane. h. Most rooftop locations require stanchion (non penetrating roof mount) with rubber mat weighted to prevent movement during high winds (typically 8 concrete blocks, 225 lbs). The stanchion should be painted with an industrial enamel. In some cases cameras will be added to existing stanchions. i. Rooftop penetrations are to be covered by an allowance included in your pricing as noted in the bid documents. Bidders are responsible for coordinating with the roofing contractor and installation of a conduit and a weatherhead style connection at each roof penetration. All Work described in the Bid Documents shall be completed by December 31, 2024.
