Renovation of an educational facility in Bakersfield, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
1. Provide submittals per specifications, including color and texture samples and installation methods. 2. Remove all fire extinguishers and turn over to Owner for recharging. Reinstall after wall finishes are complete. Provide new cabinets and/or wall hooks as required for extinguisher reinstallation. See Attachment A Matrix and Narrative for rooms containing extinguishers. 3. Provide Window Treatments at all exterior windows. 4. Provide new glass where broken or missing from tall Teacher Cabinets. New glazing is to match existing in thickness, type and tint. Refer to Attachment A Matrix and Narrative for affected rooms. For estimating purposes allow 4 for the project. 5. Markerboards (new and existing): A. Remove all markerboards as shown on contract documents. Owners representative will designate boards to be stored for reinstallation and boards to be disposed of by this contractor. Store in designated area as directed by the CMs superintendent. B. Reinstall removed/stored and new Owner Furnished Contractor Installed markerboards including trim and accessories. For estimating purposes, allow for installation of 3 each 4 x 12 markerboards per classroom. 6. Remove projection screens, and pull-down maps and charts, including all mounting hardware and fasteners. Dispose of projection screens as construction waste. Wrap and label maps, charts, and hardware separately, marked with room number and orientation in room. Reinstall maps and charts after wall finishes are completed. 7. Reinstall flags and holders/poles in same location as originally located. 8. Install Owner Furnished Contractor Installed battery-powered clocks, including mounting devices and hardware, in location as directed by the CMs superintendent. 9. Provide new projection screens installed on same wall as original screens. 10. Provide caulking for work of this contract as indicated on the plans in accordance with Section 07900. 11. Provide all layout required for work of this Bid Number, and layout of demolition of existing work to accommodate work of this Bid Number. This contractor is responsible for coordination of installation of work of this contract with all contract documents including but not limited to Architectural and Structural Drawings. 12. All work of this contract shall be executed in accordance with HMS Inc Lead Based Paint Survey and recommendations. Contractor must comply with all laws, regulations and statutes in regards to handling of lead based or lead containing paint. Pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20111.6, prequalification of the prime contractor (bidder), and of its mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) subcontractors (C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46), is required for the bidder to submit a bid on this project. Prospective bidders and their MEP subcontractors (1) are required to submit to the Owner a completed prequalification questionnaire and financial statement, on forms provided by the Owner, no later than ten business days prior to the date fixed for the public opening of sealed bids, and (2) must be announced as prequalified no later than five business days prior to the date fixed for the public opening of sealed bids.
