The City of Franklin, Kentucky reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, and to select that bid which it determines to be in its best interest. The award of this bid will be made based at the sole discretion of the City of Franklin, Kentucky while considering the evaluated bid price as permitted in KRS 424.260. All bid forms, information and specifications regarding this bid are available from the Purchasing Agent or on our web site. Respondents are to submit their bid in a clearly marked sealed envelope. The Respondent is to clearly mark the sealed bid with the bid number and description list above. Make sure the shipping envelope has the bid number listed clearly on the outside as well. The City of Franklin, Kentucky is not responsible for the premature opening of, or the failure to open, a sealed bid not properly addressed or identified. QUESTIONS AND ADDENDA This bid is offered by the Purchasing Agent. Respondents shall carefully examine this bid and any addenda issued by the Purchasing Agent. Failure to include signed addenda in the bid submission will result in rejection of the bid. Respondents shall seek clarification of any ambiguity, conflict, omission, or other error in this bid "in writing. "Oral comments or communications do not form any part of this bid offering. Questions should be addressed to the Finance Director in writing by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2024. Questions submitted after this date will not be answered. If the answer materially affects this procurement, the information will be issued in an addendum. Any questions need to be submitted by 10:00 p.m. CDT on Wednesday March 28, 2024. LAP SIDING Existing lap siding is 5/8" X 5 1/2". Replacement siding can be purchased or milled from spruce or similar smooth exposed side. Replacement of siding quantity will be agreed upon by the awarded contractor and the City representative by field observations. Siding remaining in place should have the existing paint removed by mechanical or chemical methods. Siding to be attached with ring shank siding nails (1 1/4 " minimum penetration into studs) at 16" OC. Existing nails to be reset or replaced throughout. Siding to be caulked at all joints with paintable silicone-based caulk. Any knots or resin areas are to be sealed and sanded. Siding to be sealed with Sherwin Williams base primer (exterior grade) and receive two coats of paint per plan. METAL SKIRT REMOVE AND REPLACE Existing skirt is to be removed and disposed of by the contractor. Replacement skirt is to be 1/8" simulated cement block (similar to existing). Metal skirt to be placed over cement block as well as with the skirt frame. Skirt frame to be added per plans with 8" x 6" deep strip footing (3000 psi concrete).
