As of May 16, 2024, voters approved the DD2 Referendum bond on May 14, 2024. The Dorchester School District Two (DD2) Board of Trustees has approved a special election on May 14, 2024. The board seeks to implement a sustainable long-term plan to address facility needs, alleviate overcrowding, enhance teacher-to-student ratios and revitalize aging schools. This bond referendum will enable the district to complete much-needed repairs of some of their oldest schools while at the same time building new structures to house the growing student population. The most noteworthy feature of this referendum is that it will have a zero tax/millage rate impact on the community. Recognizing the inadequacy of current capital facility funding to address these challenges, the district proposes a $200 million bond referendum.
