Reference Number 0000346547 The Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (Northern Water) is requesting proposals from qualified consultants for the Shadow Mountain Dam Spillway Rehabiliation Design. In September 2023 Northern Water Staff and the Bureau of Reclamation inspected the Shadow Mountain Dam Spillway, Grand Lake, CO while the bulkheads were installed for gate test. Reclamation determined that the rehabilitation or replacement of the spillway concrete is needed in one to five years based on the visual condition of the concrete. Northern Water is seeking to hire an engineering consultant to provide a design to either rehabilitate or replace the structure. Consideration shall be given to the short construction window at the project location and the need for a maximum water bypass of 50 CFS to meet required releases to the Colorado River during construction. The spillway is approximately 190 feet in length, 65 feet in width, and 12 inches thick.
