A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Reference Number 0000346521 The City of Romulus Michigan Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA) along with the City's Department of Public Works are requesting bids from qualified licensed Contractors to provide site prep, foundation, materials, labor, equipment to construct a 40' x 60' x 20' commercial pole barn building at 12600 Wayne Road Romulus, Michigan 48174. It is the intent of the City of Romulus DPW to have one vendor construct a 40' x 60'x 20' permitted commercial pole barn building on a level site, prepared by the contractor, that includes foundation work, all specified electrical components and service connections, the requirements of the bid documents and in accordance with 2015 Michigan Building Codes and all applicable City of Romulus Building Codes. Ultimately, a contract may be awarded to the lowest most responsive and responsible company, as determined in the sole discretion of the City of Romulus or otherwise in a manner deemed by the City to be in its own best interest. Requests for pre-bid conferences must be submitted in writing via email to the City's Purchasing Department. Requests must be received by 12:00 P.M., April 1, 2024. In the event the Purchasing Department approves a request, notice of said pre-bid conference will be posted on the website. Any changes in specifications resulting from a pre-bid conference will be issued as an addendum and shall be posted on the MITN Purchasing Group page of website . Total bid is to include any and all costs of building construction, the required electrical work, foundation, all materials, tools, labor, site preparation, equipment rental fees and staging costs and incidentals to successfully produce, and fully erect a permitted commercial pole barn as specified. o 40' x 60' x 20' Pole Barn Building to be erected by the contractor and located on a level site, prepared by the contractor : o Contractor to obtain all required City of Romulus Building Department permits No fees shall be charged for the permits The contractor shall provide the following drawings, cut sheets and schematics as required by the City of Romulus Building Codes : o Front, back, and side views of their proposed building o Electrical schematics o Contractor to provide material certifications, product brochures, warranties, and any other informational documentation as it relates to the construction o Poles - The poles shall be wolmanized and installed at a depth of 42", Dimension of spacing and diameter dimension of poles shall be provided on shop drawings. o The eaves shall be a 2 foot overhang, with open venting. . o A ridge vent or total roof venting shall be proposed in the bid package. o Ceiling height to be minimum of 20', or approved dimension based on barn bid o Doors: (Dimension of these doors are approximate and each bid packet shall specify the dimension including the ceiling height requirements to provide the roll up door with electrical door opener.) (1) 36" wide steel Man door with hand and deadbolt locking mechanisms o Door with hand and deadbolt locking mechanisms (1) 20' Sliding Door manually operated, lockable sliding door that meets commercial RV standards, or approved equal dimensions (1) 20' Roll-up Door electrically operated, roll-up door w/ windows as option that meets commercial RV standards, or approved equal dimensions. o Wiring to electric panel to be included. o Insulated roof sheeting (recommended R-Values). The roof shall have a 4/12 pitch with 2' on center trusses, or adherence to Michigan Building Code Standards and be designed to handle standard Michigan snow loads. The roof sheeting shall be 26 to 29 Gauge material, or a DPW approved equal and Shall be insulated on bottom side to dampen noise and reduce sweating. o Light entry sheeting at top of ceiling, on outside walls The exterior wall sheeting should be 26 to 29 gauge material, or a DPW approved equal. There should be light-entry, fiberglass sheeting installed at a minimum 2' width from the top of the ceiling, surrounding the sides of the building. The DPW will consider other material type recommendations for the light-entry sheeting - Include Manufacturer's literature for product included in bid. o Options: OPTION 1 - Aprons on roll-up and sliding doors, aprons shall be as wide as the doors proposed, and extend 20' out. Foundation- : o 6" Concrete floor, o Reinforced with wire mesh 6x6, 9 or 10 gauge or approved equal by the DPW department. o The concrete mix requirement is to be MDOT Grade P1. o The City of Romulus will conduct a 4" Slump Test of the concrete pour. o The foundation shall have a 24" Rat Wall Electrical Work - The contractor will be responsible for all electrical installations behind the new service drop and install the meter and panel. o Contractor to obtain all required City of Romulus Building Department permits No fees shall be charged for the permits o A copy of the licensee's State of Michigan Electrical Master and Contractor License o The electrical service shall be a 400 amp service The panel location will be dictated by the new service drop installation location. o (24) 80 watt, led shop lights, mounted evenly throughout the ceiling with switches installed at every door. o (18) 110 volt outlets installed evenly throughout the building. o (2) 220 volt outlets at locations determined by the City of Romulus DPW o Proper wiring to roll-up door o The City of Romulus DPW will be responsible for the cost of the new electrical drop from the service provider once that provider has been determined and a location and route to the service panel is established. o Site Cleanup and Project Debris - All construction debris, wood and site debris (with the exception of wood from trees), shall be removed and properly disposed of off-site at the expense of the contractor. Use of the City's dumpsters or disposal of debris on City property is strictly prohibited.
