Site work for a water / sewer project in Ridgefield, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Furnishing and installing approximately 5,315 LF of 54-inch Gravity Sewer and appurtenances from the doghouse MH connection with the existing BCUA 72-inch Gravity Sewer in Bell Drive to and including the final connection just downstream of the Force Main Discharge Chamber on Railroad Avenue installed under Contract Part C, all in Ridgefield, from Station 117+03 to Station 170+18. Includes installation of approximately 200 LF of 54-inch Gravity Sewer in a 78-inch Steel Casing by Jacking, with the remainder installed by open cut. Includes demolition and/or abandoning of existing gravity sanitary sewers as shown and specified and the installation of new chambers, manholes and appurtenances. Includes one new meter chamber. Includes removal and replacement of existing storm and sanitary sewers in Church Street. Includes maintenance of sanitary sewer flow including by-pass operations as required to make all necessary connections to the existing sanitary sewer systems and maintain flow in existing facilities to be removed, replaced, or disturbed by the work. Work includes: Furnishing and Installing various Appurtenances as shown and specified. Completion of all improvements as required to finalize the new gravity sewer installation. Exposure to historic/potentially contaminated fill and groundwater. Trench restoration and paving roadways as shown and specified. Maintenance and protection of traffic, soil erosion and sedimentation control, environmental protection and restoration, temporary facilities, excavation dewatering. Miscellaneous site work and clean up. Restoration of all disturbed areas. Bidder shall submit a bid guarantee in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, payable unconditionally to the Bergen County Utilities Authority, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for the full amount of the bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and said Surety will furnish a consolidated Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of 100% of the successful Bidder's contract. The bid guarantee may be given, at the option of the bidder, by certified check, cashier's check or bid bond. If submitting a bid bond, the Bidder shall submit an electronic bid bond or electronic copy of the bid bond. If the Bidder is to submit a certified check or cashier check: (1) the bidder shall include an image of the check upon submitted their bids through the electronic platform in accordance with NJAC 5:34-5.3(f)(1); and (2) the physical check shall be sealed upon submission to the Authority and clearly marked as part of the bidders response in accordance with NJAC 5:34-5.3(f)(2).at the following address; the Division of Purchasing no later than the time stated above at Foot of Merhrof Road, P.O. Box 9 Little Ferry, NJ 07643 Bidders shall comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A 10:5-31 and N.J.A.C. 17-27 et seq. Bidders shall comply with the "Prevailing Wage Act" N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq. and the Federal Davis Bacon Act. The Contractor shall pay the higher of the State or Federal wage rates. This Contract or subcontract is expected to be funded in part with funds from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank. Neither the State of New Jersey, the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank nor any of their departments, agencies or employees is, or will be, a party to this contract or subcontract or any lower tier contract or subcontract. This contract or subcontract is subject to the provisions of N.J.A.C. 7:22-3, 4, 5, 9 and 10 [N.J.A.C.7:22-3.17(d)]. The Contractor shall comply with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:5-2.1 et seq., N.J.S.A. 58:11B-26, N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 7:22-3.17(a)24, and 4.17(a)24 and for the participation of small business enterprises owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals (SED). These regulations require no less than 10 percent of the total amount of all contracts related to the project shall be awarded to SEDs. There is a 10 percent SED goal for this project. Successful bidder shall comply with SED Utilization Plan prepared by the OWNER. [N.J.A.C. 7:22-3.17(f)] In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 58:11B-26, N.J.A.C. 7:22-3.17(a)24 and 4:17(a)24, the contractor shall comply with all the provisions of N.J.A.C. 7:22-9. Any individuals visiting the site must bring their own personal protection equipment ("PPE") which must include, at a minimum, hardhats, safety vest, safety boots, and gloves. The BCUA will not provide PPE. Sealed bids for this project are being solicited through a fair and open process in accordance with N.J.S.A.
