Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Newton, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The project consists of the removal and replacement of the synthetic turf system at Dickinson Stadium Field and recoating of track at Dickinson stadium as specified in plans and in accordance with Project Manual. The project includes excavation and restoration of top stone and base stone in wet area of field, as identified and dimensioned on drawings, and expose area for investigation by the Owner and its engineer (Engineer) to diagnose existing drainage problem. The contractor is responsible for coordinating all permits, and all work required for site preparation and removals including removal and recycling of synthetic turf, removal of infill material for reuse, power washing and recoating of track surfacing, furnishing and installation of erosion and sedimentation controls, manhole and trench drain cleaning, installation of new Owner furnished synthetic turf and infill system, and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. Work under the contract requires a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and supervision necessary to accomplish the work described herein, in accordance with all specifications and requirements of the attached Technical Specifications, the attached CDM Smith Project Plans and this Invitation For Bid. The term of this contract shall extend from the issuance of a written Work Order prepared by City Parks, Recreation & Culture Department (PRC) specifying the work to be performed through August 31, 2024. Award will be made to the responsible and eligible bidder offering the lowest Bid Price on Bid Form #24-61. A bid deposit in an amount that is not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the bid, including all add alternates, is required. Bid deposits, payable to the City, shall be either in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. Bidders are reminded that the bid deposit covers the City for damages when a bidder withdraws its bid after the bid submission date. Be advised that to the extent permitted by the law the City will retain all bid deposits for withdrawn bids. All bids are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M. Wages are subject to minimum wage rates determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Industries pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 149, Sec. 26 to 27H. The schedule of wage rates applicable to this contract is included in the bidding documents. In addtion, the prevailing wage schedule will be updated annually for all public construction projects lasting longer than one (1) year. You will be required to pay the rates set out in any updated prevailing wage schedule. Increases in prevailing wage schedules will not be the basis for change order requests. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance demonstrating current coverage of the type and amounts set forth in the Project Manual. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the amount of 50% of the contract total. The costs of any bond and any insurance required in this IFB are the responsibility of the bidder; such costs will not be reimbursed by City and should be included in your bid.
