Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Brentwood, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

General work description: The work to be done generally consists of roadway shoulder widening along an 860-foot segment of Walnut Boulevard between Marsh Creek Road and Vasco Road to provide Class II Bike lanes in the unincorporated Brentwood area. Additional improvements include grinding and overlaying the roadway pavement section, and installing a centerline rumble strip, striping, pavement markings, and signage. Engineer's cost estimate: $671,000 Number of Working Days: 20 The successful bidder must furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. The Contractor must possess a valid Class A or Class C-12 License at the time the Contract is awarded. Prior to submitting a bid, the Contractor and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5, subject to limited legal exceptions under Labor Code section 1771.1. The Board has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages applicable to this work. The prevailing rate of per diem wages is on file with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, and is incorporated herein by reference thereto, the same as if set forth in full herein. For any classification not included in the list, the minimum wage will be the general prevailing rate for Contra Costa County. Liquidated damages for all work except plant establishment are as shown in the following table. You are required to subcontract a minimum of 23% of your bid in accordance with the Mandatory Subcontracting Minimum requirements within these special provisions. Document note: Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be viewed but not obtained at the Public Works Department, 255 Glacier Drive, Martinez, California 94553-4897, Monday - Thursday (7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), and Friday (7:00 a.m. - noon and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.). Plans and specifications can be obtained via the Contra Costa County Public Works Department's at online. You may obtain electronic PDF copies of the plans and specifications upon purchase of the bid package through the Online for no additional service charge.
