The Mid-East Commission on behalf of Beaufort County, North Carolina is soliciting qualifications from engineering and planning firms for engineering and design services for a granite sill type living shoreline for erosion control to be located at the future Wright's Creek
Park on Wilkins Rd. Belhaven, NC (Pamlico Beach area). The county is seeking detailed engineering and design services which will be used to move forward into the permitting and construction phase of the project. This project was funded through the NC Parks and Recreation
Trust Fund (PARTF) and the NC Coastal Federation. Copies of the PARTF grant application and the NC Coastal Federation funding letter are available upon request. This project is for design and engineering of a granite sill type living shoreline to be located at the future Wright's Creek Park on Wilkin's Rd. Belhaven, NC (Pamlico Beach area). The structure
should be designed for erosion control on an approximately 550 linear foot section of shoreline. Potentially, the section at the boat ramp channel will need to be a standard shoreline rip-rap
revetment rather then a granite sill living shoreline (in which case, design for the revetment should also be included). The design should include specifications for plants. A site plan showing the
desired location of this erosion control structure is attached to this RFQ. On site educational signage should also be designed for public understanding and benefit, as this project will be at a public park site.
