**As of April 22, 2024, the award amount is $37,983.91. OVERVIEW
The Town of Norridgewock Fire Department has intends to purchase a full-size gasoline Side-by-Side (SxS). The
function of the SxS is to support fire suppression and rescue operations, primarily in the Towns of Norridgewock
and Mercer, Maine. The age of current Fire Department ATV equipment and the recent extension of the Kennebec
Valley Trail (multi-use trail corridor) through Norridgewock have emphasized the need to upgrade. The Department will be purchasing and installing a combination firefighting/rescue skid unit for the bed of the SxS
The skid unit will be on website (or substantially similar)
with the following approximate specifications:
o 48" Wide, 55" Deep, 38" High (tailgate remains down when skid installed)
o Approximately 1,000 lbs. wet weight. Questions and Addenda
Prospective proposers may direct questions in writing to the Town Manager (rlabelle@norridgewock.gov). All
questions are due before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024. Answers to the questions will be available at website
as questions are posed and answered. Prospective proposers are encouraged to notify
the Town Manager via e-mail of their interest in submitting a quotation and/or receiving information updates in the
event addendums are issued. An e-mail distribution list will be developed to communicate with prospective
proposers more efficiently. Review and Final Selection
An internal review of vendor selection shall begin upon closing. A recommendation will be sent to the Select Board
for consideration during its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The final
selection may be made during this meeting. In the event a final selection is not made on April 17, 2024, all vendors
submitting proposals will be notified, and meeting notices will be available approximately four (4) days before the
actual meeting date. Rights Reserved
The Town intends to award this contract to the individual or firm that provides the lowest responsible and
responsive bid deemed by the Select Board to be in the best interests of the Town. The Town of Norridgewock
reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any formality or technicality in the submissions. The Town
also reserves the right to negotiate with the successful bidder.
Proposal Price
Each bidder's proposal must include all items in the Required Specifications unless a specific exception is taken.
Exceptions must be clearly stated. The Town of Norridgewock is State of Maine sales tax EXEMPT.
Delivery
The bidder shall state the time required for delivery of the completed unit in the proposal. The completed unit shall
be delivered to the Fire Department, with full instructions provided to Fire Department personnel on the operation,
care, and maintenance of the unit at the Fire Department location. ALTERNATE OFFERINGS:
The Norridgewock Fire Department has spent considerable time and effort evaluating the enclosed SxS
requirements and believes the Required Specifications section provides the department with the best overall
solution. Nonetheless, the department remains open to suggestions for an alternate configuration in the event the
dealer believes strongly that an alternate configuration is a better value for the department.
Please feel free to propose additional alternate configurations. For example, an extended bed machine with higher
load capacity.
Dealer's bids will not be automatically rejected for failure to follow the Required Specifications provided. Dealers
that propose ONLY an alternate offering should be prepared to substantiate their proposal following bid review. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
