The Work consists of, but is not limited to providing professional services to develop programming and preliminary design through construction documents and construction administration for the renovation of the south wing of the University Park Building into a childcare facility. Work includes renewal of 10 classrooms and associated ancillary spaces to create a compliant early childhood education and childcare space. Construction of age-appropriate restrooms, eating and playground facilities is a critical requirement of the project. Major mechanical and electrical systems will also be revitalized to serve the intended purpose. The roof will be replaced and seismic upgrades will be made to the structure. All finishes in the scope of work area will be renewed. An outdoor playground area will be installed along with required security fencing and lighting. The outcome of the professional services will be a fully functional design of a daycare compliant with the necessary local, state, and federal regulations and with the appropriate accreditation boards. This project is subject to the provisions of the Build American, Buy America Act (Title IX of Public Law 117-58) applicable to federally funded construction contracts.
