Contract Award: May 1, 2024 (ESTIMATED) Work to Commence On Site: June 2, 2025 Substantial Completion: July 25, 2025 Final Completion: August 1, 2025 Project Description: A. Upon receiving Notice To Proceed, the Contractor is required to carry out a survey of the equipment scheduled to be replaced, to verify all quantities, voltages and dimensions to ensure that all work carried out is in accordance with all applicable building codes and manufacturers UL rating requirements. B. Removal and replacement of two gas powered generators (and all associated work) as detailed in the Construction Documents. C. Daily on-site project management/supervision. D. Thorough cleaning of the project site. Each bid in excess of $200,000 submitted in response to this IFB shall be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total monetary amount of the bid (total base bid plus all additive bid items). The bid guarantee may be either (i) a certified or cashiers check made payable to The City of Charlottesville, Virginia, or (ii) a bid bond made payable to The City of Charlottesville, Virginia. The bid guarantee shall be for the purpose of promising and guaranteeing that the bidder will not withdraw its bid for a period of ninety (90) days after bid opening. The proceeds of the bid guarantee shall be and remain the sole property of the City, as liquidated damages, should the successful bidder fail to execute a contract, provide proof of all required insurance and endorsements, or provide all required payment and performance bonds within five days of the Citys issuance of notice of award of the contract. In lieu of a bid bond, a bidder may furnish a certified check or cash escrow in the face amount required for the bond, or, if approved in advance by the city attorney, a bidder may furnish a personal bond, property bond, or a bank or savings institutions letter of credit on certain designated funds in the face amount required for the bid bond. The General Contractor shall be required to provide payment and performance bonds in the full amount of the Contract.
