Site work for a water / sewer project in Sarasota, Florida. Design plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of March 21, 2024, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. It is anticipated that 100% plans will be completed by December 2024. Bidding will follow the 100% plans submittal and construction is anticipated to start in June 2025. A conceptual plan has been developed to restore the stream to a more natural hydrology, reducing nutrient and sediment pollution to Lemon Bay. The agreement for professional services includes surveying, geotechnical borings, preliminary engineering report, design plans, permitting, stormwater modeling, and minor utility adjustments for the stream restoration. The stream restoration limits, and work are planned on County owned lands. The design shall include analysis of the existing stream, sediment management plan, erosion and bank stabilizations, trail ingress/egress access with a future connection of the Sarasota County Parks Trails Master Plan for a Natural OffRoad System connecting Woodmere Park to Venice East Blvd via the Alligator Creek Trail.
