Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Asheville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
Belk Theatre is a 10,715 GSF arena theatre constructed in 1976. It contains a 199-seat theatre, box office, scene and costume shop, and the department's main office. The last mechanical component upgrade occurred in 2005. The scope of this project is to replace the existing HVAC system serving this building with a new high efficiency system, providing cooling and heating without the use of natural gas as a primary fuel source. The use of natural gas will be considered as a secondary/backup heating source only. Special consideration shall be given to zoning of areas with highly variable occupant loads and dehumidification of costume storage areas. In order to offer architectural or engineering services in response to this solicitation, the proposer must be licensed in the State of North Carolina.
