Site work for a road / highway in Wallingford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

The Town of Wallingford is accepting bids for "Installation and Repair of (Guard) Guide Rails at Various Locations". CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 4/16/2024 5:00 PM The scope of work for this project is to replace all residential and commercial water meters with sizes ranging from 5/8"x3/4" to 12". 5/8"x3/4" and 1" water meters shall be replaced with a new positive displacement water meter with a brass, bronze alloy, or epoxy coated ductile iron housing and mechanical dial register with a Nicor connector which enables connection to a battery operated AMI radio transmitter. 2" water meters shall be replaced with either a new positive displacement, or compound water meter, depending on the existing type of meter, with a brass, bronze alloy, or epoxy coated ductile iron housing and mechanical dial register with a Nicor connector which enables connection to a battery operated AMI radio transmitter. 3" to 12" water meters shall be replaced with turbine or compound water meter, depending on the existing type of meter, with a brass, bronze alloy, or epoxy coated ductile iron housing and mechanical dial register with a Nicor connector which enables connection to a battery operated AMI radio transmitter. All new meters shall be Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) radio frequency compatible. The replacement of curb stops, gate valves, meter boxes and/or meter lids may be necessary if broken or not in working condition. Also, the scope of work includes installing a licensed fixed network Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system which includes data collectors, radios, software, interfaces, etc. It will be a requirement of the proposer to provide a meter change out interface to update the new meter serial number in the Parish's AS400 billing system and any other interfaces required to communicate between the AMI and installation software and Parish's software. Additionally, a lead service line material classification survey for each meter must be conducted in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the EPA. Technical project specifications are attached to this RFP in Attachment E for additional project details. Proposers shall comply with the technical specifications in Attachment "E". Due to Hurricane Ida, the existing water meters in the areas of Grand Isle and Lafitte were covered with sand or mud. As a part of this project, the Jefferson Parish WaterDescription: Work under this item shall consist of installing steel guide rail elements attached to metal posts. The rail types shall be w-beam shaped and conform to the applicable CTDOT standard detail installation sheets for R-I and R-B 350 systems. It shall be installed in the locations approved by the Engineer in conformity with the lines, dimensions and details of the latest applicable CTDOT standard detail sheets. Materials: The material for metal beam rail shall meet the requirements of CTDOT Form 818 Article M.10.02 and the following: 1. Adhesive bonding material shall meet the requirements of 6.10.02. 2. Metal beam rail delineators shall meet the requirements of M.18.09 and M.18.13. 3. When converting rail, the Contractor shall reuse any undamaged existing rail elements, appropriate posts, delineators, and lap bolts within the Project limits as approved by the Engineer to construct the converted rail. The Contractor shall use new materials when any components of the existing railing are damaged or missing and cannot be obtained from other rail systems being removed or converted within the Project limits. 4. Weathering steel for rail elements and terminal sections shall meet the requirements of AASHTO M 180 Class A Type IV. Construction Methods: Shall conform to CTDOT Form 818 Section 9.10.03, including all amendments. Method of Measurement and Basis of Payment: R-I Metal Beam Rail (Length): The length of R-I Metal Beam Rail measured and paid for will be the number of linear feet of rail measured along the top of rail between the centers of end posts in each continuous section. This will be paid for at the contract unit price per linear foot for R-I Metal Beam Rail (Length) indicated on the plan or as ordered by the Engineer, complete and accepted in place. The contract unit price shall include all materials, beam rail elements, metal posts of all dimensions and lengths, fastening hardware, equipment, tools, removal and disposal of surplus material and all labor incidental to the installation. R-B 350 Metal Beam Rail (Type) (Length): The length of R-B 350 Metal Beam Rail measured and paid for will be the number of linear feet of rail measured along the top of rail between the centers of end posts in each continuous section. This will be paid for at the contract unit price per linear foot for R-B 350 Metal Beam Rail (Type) (Length) indicated on the plan or as ordered by the Engineer, complete and accepted in place. The contract unit price shall include all materials, beam rail elements, metal posts of all dimensions and lengths, fastening hardware, equipment, tools, removal and disposal of surplus material and all labor incidental to the installation. R-B 350 Bridge Rail Attachment: The number of R-B 350 Bridge Rail Attachments measured and paid for will be the actual number of accepted attachments of each type or designation installed in accordance with the "pay limits" shown on the CTDOT Standard Detail Installation Sheets. Metal Beam Rail Terminal Element: The number of Metal Beam Rail Terminal Elements measured and paid for will be the actual number of installed MBR terminal elements in place and accepted. This item will be paid for at the contract unit price per each terminal element installed and accepted. The contract unit price shall include all materials, terminal elements, fastening hardware, equipment, tools, and all labor incidental to the installation. There will be no distinction made for metal beam rail type under this item. New Metal Post: This item will be measured and paid for by the actual number of each new metal post installed complete in place and accepted. The contract unit price shall include all materials, equipment, tools, removal and disposal of surplus material and all labor incidental to the installation. This item includes metal posts of various dimensions as applicable by the requirements of R-I and R-B 350 metal beam rail systems. Department would like to Proposer to dig out these water meters for replacement. In Grand Isle, the existing water meters shall be inspected to determine if they are in working condition. If in working condition, the existing meters in Grand Isle do not need to be replaced.
