The project involves but is not limited to: road milling and delivery / placement of Superpave Warm Mix Asphalt Wearing Course, 9.5 mm mix, 1-1/2-inch compacted depth for various roads in the township, including base repair. Questions Due Date: Apr 1st 2024, 12:00 PM EDT Base Bid: o Provide all necessary traffic controls for complete project. Contractor shall place a sign at each end of the project site detailing the start & end dates a minimum of 5 days prior to the start of work. o Saw cut / mill pavement joints (all locations including driveways if applicable). o 6' Curb mill as specified by road. (See following pages) o Full width milling 1-1/2 inches minimum depth. Mill additional depth, if necessary. (See following pages) o Contractor shall adjust all water valves if necessary with adjustment rings provided by the Township. o Complete Base Repair as directed by the Township representative.(See procedure on the following pages). o Sweep and Tack Coat roadway surface prior to paving. o Deliver and place Leveling Course as directed by the Township representative. o Deliver and place 1-1/2 inches of Wearing Course. o Sealing of all joints, edges and utilities is incidental to paving. I. GENERAL. Uwchlan Township is soliciting price proposals for paving improvements to twelve roads within the Township. This work shall consist of delivering and placing of bituminous materials for the above referenced roadway. Uwchlan Township will pay for the material and anticipates purchasing it from 'Highway Materials' in Downingtown through the Pennsylvania's COSTARS program. The contractor is responsible for coordinating the ordering of the asphalt material, and shall bear financial responsibility for excess asphalt that is ordered and not placed. If any person contemplating submitting a bid for the proposed work is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of these proposed contract documents, they may submit a written request for an interpretation to the Township Engineer via the PennBID system a minimum of four days prior to bid opening.
