The Bureau of General Services & Maine Department of Corrections are conducting a competitive bid process for Pavement Improvements to be completed at the Maine State Prison in Warren, Maine. This section describes the measurement and payment for the work to be completed under each bid item in the Proposal. The descriptions may not reference all of the associated Work. Work specified, but not specifically designated as a bid item, is considered incidental to all bid items. The total price for the Contract shall cover all work shown on the Contract Drawings and required by the Specifications and other Contract Documents. All costs in connection with the Work, including furnishing all materials, equipment, supplies and appurtenances; providing all construction, and tools; and performing all necessary labor and supervision to fully complete the Work, shall be included in the lump sum price bid or the unit prices specified on the bid sheets. No item that is required for the proper and successful completion of the Work will be paid for outside of, or in addition to, the prices submitted in the bid. All Work not specifically identified within this section shall be considered incidental to the project and a subsidiary obligation of the Contractor and all costs in connection therewith shall be included in the prices. Owner’s responsibility for any item listed as being provided by Owner is limited to prepurchase and payment ofthat equipment outside of contract. Contractor is responsible for the unloading, storage, installation, and startup of all new Owner provided items and the relocation, installation, and startup of all Owner provided items that are already existing. A. Provide and maintain devices to control erosion that occurs during construction operations, prior to completion ofpermanent erosion control. B. Includes compliance with all applicable permits and NRPA Standards and Maine Erosion and Sediment Control Law (MRSA 420-C). C. Provide measures to control dust caused by construction operations whether on or offthe site. Provide bituminous paving as shown on the Drawings. This Section includes the following: 1. Paving of all new roadways, driveways, and sidewalks. 2. Paving of all existing pavement areas disturbed by the work. 3. Replacement of disturbed pavement markings and painting new markings. 4.Repavement of any other existing paved areas damaged by Contractor’s operations. 5. Bituminous tack coat. 6. Milling of existing pavement. 7. Full Depth Recycling (Reclaiming)_of existing paved surfaces.
