Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Selma, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

RFP D/B - New Fire Station Building No 3 Project The City of Selma (City) is currently soliciting Requests for Proposals (RFP) from qualified firms to provide comprehensive Construction Management with Master Architectural (CM- MA) Services for a New Fire Station Building to be constructed through a Design-Build project delivery method. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City plans to construct an approximately 10,000 square foot, one-story, Fire Station, to include administrative offices and support spaces, secure staff parking and public/visitor parking. The new building will be designed based upon an updated space needs assessment, building program, and site analysis developed by the Consultant selected from this RFP. The new building will include three fire truck bays, office space, living quarters, training rooms, conference rooms, break rooms, locker and changing rooms, restrooms with showers, public lobby, secured parking for Fire Department employee's vehicles and Department vehicles with clear definition between staff and public access areas and an emergency generator. The intent is to build a user-friendly, accessible, safe and healthy environment for the City of Selma Fire Department staff and the public. Security will be an important part of this new building. The building's design and construction shall meet California Title 24 Codes, State Storm Water Requirements, and City Building Standards. The City of Selma and City Fire will have jurisdiction and oversight for review, approval, permitting and final occupancy for the facility. The City parcel is located within the City of Selma's city limits. The consultant will be required to make presentations to stakeholders including community members during the design process. The building's design shall incorporate the latest required green building codes, State Storm Water Requirements, and energy and water saving features. The consultant's project bridging documents and specifications shall require of the Design-Build entity that the new building comply with City Standards. BACKGROUND The City of Selma currently has two Fire Stations: Station 1 is an approximately 7,000 square foot facility built in the 1950s; Station 2 is approximately 3,500 square feet and was built in 1957. The fire administration building is a modular structure located at a separate location. The Fire Department's services and space requirements over the years have outpaced the size and amenities of their existing fire stations and administrative building. Although minor remodeling did mitigate some issues in the past, further expansion and retrofitting of the existing building is not feasible for the City's current and future needs. All questions pertaining to the content of this RFP must be made in writing to the City Clerk at the email address listed below Requests submitted after said date may not be considered. Questions will receive a response within approximately five (5) business days after receipt. The City reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of questions/comments that will be posted on the website. If you have any questions about the proposal process, please contact: City of Selma Selma City Clerk - Reyna Rivera Reynar@cityofselma.com (559) 891-2200. The City reserves the right to award the contract to the firms who present the proposal which, in the judgment of the City, will best accomplish the desired results.
