Furnish materials, labor, and equipment necessary to purchase and Install Kunkel works shade structures and construct new concrete slabs at Inouye Elementary School. 1. Site preparation a. Clear and grub area of new concrete slab. b. Grade area level. c. Install 4” of aggregate base course and compact area. 2. Concrete Work a. Construct 2 new concrete slabs adjacent to the existing concrete slab. Approximate sizes are 24 feet wide by 19 feet long and 24 feet wide by 17’ long. b. Details and exact locations of the concrete slab will be discussed at the mandatory prebid meeting. c. New concrete slab shall be 4 inch thick with a 6 inch thickened edge around the perimeter. i. Concrete mix shall be a minimum of 2500 psi. ii. There shall be crack control joints cut at 10 feet on center in either direction. iii. Concrete finish shall be a light broom finish. iv. Slab edges shall be finished with a ½” bullnose. d. Reinforcing shall be a single continuous #4 rebar in the thickened edge and 6 x 6 x 10 galvanized welded wire fabric throughout. e. New concrete slab shall be doweled to the existing adjacent concrete with ½” dowels @18” o.c. 3. Shade Structures a. The contractor shall purchase and install Kunkel works shade structures. b. First unit is a PJT57.72-H28 XL, Curved Roof, 18’-10” D x 23’-7” W x 9’-0” H. c. Second unit is a PJT 50.72-H28 XL, Curved Roof, 16’-6” D x 23’-7” W x 9’-0” H. d. There are 6 posts per unit for a total of 12 posts
