This project is a federally funded project through HSIP funding The project will construct new sidewalk on the north side of Titans Way at Lake Taylor High School. Additional work will include the installation of additional pedestrian signal heads and push buttons. In order to be considered for award, all prospective bidders shall be pre-qualified with the Virginia Department of Transportation . A DBE Goal of 4% has been assigned to this project All Requests for Information (RFIs) shall be submitted no later than Monday, April 8, 2024, 4:00 pm A Bid Bond, certified check, or cashiers check made payable to the Treasurer, City of Norfolk, for 5% of total bid must accompany each bid.Performance Bond: one hundred percent (100%) Payment Bond: one hundred percent (100%) Liquidated Damages: Six Hundred Dollars ($600) per day Work to be Substantially Completed in: 270 calendar days If a contract is for $120,000.00 or more, or if the total value of all such construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by the bidder within any 12 month period is for $750,000.00 or more, the bidder is required under Title 54, Chapter 11, Code of Virginia, 1950 (as amended), to show evidence of being licensed as a Class A Contractor. If a contract is $10,000.00 or more, but less than $120,000.00, or if the total value of all such construction, removal, repair or improvements undertaken by the bidder within any 12 month period is less than $150,000.00, the bidder is required to show evidence of being licensed as a Class B Contractor. If a contract is $1,000.00 or more, but less than $10,000.00, or if the total value of all such construction, removal, repair or improvements undertaken by the bidder within any 12 month period is less than $150,000.00, the bidder is required to show evidence of being licensed as a Class C Contractor.
