New Early Childhood Center JCPS Board of Education has established goals and good faith effort of 15% participation for Minority Business Enterprises, and 10% for Women Business Enterprises in all construction contracting. JCPS reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in bids received where such acceptance, rejection, or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner. General: The primary scope of work for this project is the construction of a new, single story, 49,448 square foot early childhood learning facility with classrooms, offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, multi-purpose room, boiler room and other teaching spaces. It will also have three (3) penthouses housing mechanical equipment for each of the three classroom wings and administrative areas. A 'storm shelter' enclosure included as part of one of the classroom wings is also provided. A geothermal HVA/C system is designed for the facility. Structure: The building structure consists of footings, foundation walls, concrete slab on grade, load-bearing ICF exterior walls and interior concrete block walls. Exterior: Walls consist of ICF system, insulation, brick veneer, metal siding, aluminum window, hollow metal frames and steel doors. Interior: Painted drywall and concrete block partitions, hollow door frames, wood and metal doors, ceramic floor and porcelain wall tiles in restrooms, stained and polished concrete flooring and suspended acoustical tile ceilings. A new electrical service will be provided along with new light fixtures and the associated electrical systems. Other electrical systems include an emergency generator, intercom, security and fire alarm system. Site: Geothermal well field, retention basin, asphalt roadways and parking lot stripping, grading, parking and street light fixtures, concrete sidewalks and curbs, concrete utility equipment pads, flagpole, trees, grass and shrubs, chain link fencing and gates, and playground surfacing.
