The owner has determined a short list of architects. Interested vendors will needs to contact me directly for a copy of the floor plans. Please note that this is not a typical bid, as the recommendation to award the contract will be based on other items, in addition to price. The City of Warrenville is accepting proposals with pricing from a qualified firm to replace existing keypads and panels at City Hall, the Police Department, and Public Works, provide software to monitor and administer the security system, and provide software and hardware support services. The City's existing keyless entry system utilizes keypads, but the City is seeking to replace the keypads with proximity sensors to be activated by proximity cards capable of also being printed on, so the cards can be used as City identification cards. It is anticipated that the existing wiring can be used for the new proximity readers, but that the panels may need to be replaced, depending on the system that is proposed. The City also desires that the new system will have an associated app to allow administration and monitoring of the software and provide the ability to lock or unlock all doors in a building or buildings remotely. It is important to note that this is not a low bid proposal. Price will be a factor, but the City will be considering other factors including, without limitation, how user friendly the software is, references from municipalities that currently use the proposed system, and scope and cost of the support agreements. The successful respondent will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds on forms provided in the Specifications and Contract Documents, each in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract price. The City reserves the right to evaluate the responses submitted; waive any irregularities therein; select candidates for the submittal of more detailed or alternate proposals; accept any submittal or portion of submittal; reject any or all respondents submitting responses, should it be deemed in the City's best interest; or cancel the entire process.
