DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Work under consideration for bidding shall be the Work shown on the Drawings and described in the Specifications for the project titled Interior Renovation Project at the Phoenix Academy, as prepared by VSWC - Architects, Inc. These bidding documents are the Contract Documents. In general the project includes interior demolition, new walls and finishes. Unless otherwise noted, all items, material, processes, and procedures included in these specifications are to include both labor and material necessary for a complete job. Bids will be received for the General Construction Contract (Single Prime). The Bids shall be opened and read publicly. The probable cost for the total construction contract is $175,000. Bids shall include all labor, materials, equipment, special tools, and services required to complete the work in accordance with the Contract Documents. Each proposal shall contain the name of every person interested therein. Each proposal shall meet the regulations of Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid (including add alternates) or a certified check, cashier's check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid amount, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. No bids may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to reject any or all bids, and to conduct such review as necessary to determine the responsibility of any bidder submitting a bid for the Project. All bids shall remain open for acceptance for sixty (60) days following the day of the bid opening, but the Owner may, in its sole discretion, release any bid and return the Bid Guaranty prior to that date. The Bid Guaranty shall be subject to forfeiture, as provided in the Ohio Revised Code, if a bid is withdrawn during the period the bids are being held.
