Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Plymouth, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
A. West Middle School: 1. Install erosion control devices prior to beginning construction activities. 2. Remove and dispose of existing precast concrete parking blocks. 3. Reclaim existing bituminous pavement and underlying soils, where shown, to a depth of 10 inches. 4. Grade and compact reclaimed bituminous / aggregate base to accommodate new pavement section and provide positive surface drainage as shown on the Drawings. 5. Schedule and perform proof-roll of prepared base in the presence of the Engineer. a. Where required by the Engineer, perform subgrade corrections by excavating existing soils and replacing with reclaimed material and/or imported aggregate base. b. Remove excess reclaimed material from the site. 6. Place new bituminous pavement over prepared base, in two lifts, as shown on the Drawings. 7. Restore disturbed lawn areas, stripe parking lot, and remove erosion control devices. 8. The following quantity shall be included in the Base Bid. The Unit Price (see Section 01 20 00) will only be used to adjust the Contract amount for variances from this specified quantity: a. Subgrade corrections (compacted volume): 250 cubic yards B. Gleason Lake Elementary School: 1. Install erosion control devices prior to beginning construction activities. 2. Remove existing concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter, concrete stairs and handrails, and basketball equipment as shown on the Drawings. 3. Reclaim existing bituminous pavement and underlying soils, where shown, to a depth of 10 inches. 4. Grade and compact reclaimed bituminous / aggregate base to accommodate new pavement sections and provide positive surface drainage as shown. 5. Schedule and perform proof-roll of prepared base in the presence of the Engineer. a. Where required by the Engineer, perform subgrade corrections by excavating existing soils and replacing with reclaimed material and/or imported aggregate base. b. Remove excess reclaimed material from the site. 6. Construct new modular block retaining wall and install ornamental fence as shown. 7. Install new storm structures and storm sewer piping. 8. Construct new concrete stairs and handrails as shown. 9. Construct new concrete curb and gutter and concrete sidewalks over prepared base. 10. Install salvaged basketball equipment. 11. Place new bituminous pavement over prepared base, in two lifts, as shown on the Drawings. 12. Place topsoil and sod in disturbed lawn areas. 13. Stripe parking lots, drive, and playground area as shown. 14. Remove erosion control devices following final site stabilization. 15. The following quantity shall be included in the Base Bid. The Unit Price (see Section 01 20 00) will only be used to adjust the Contract amount for variances from this specified quantity: a. Subgrade corrections (compacted volume): 100 cubic yards Site Directions: West MS: 149 Barry Ave N, Plymouth Gleason Lake Elem: 310 Co.
