As of May 1, 2024, the project was awarded to Brilun Construction, Ltd., with an awarded amount of $1,681,647.96. The CBRM requires construction services from a qualified contractor to perform concrete curb & gutter and sidewalk work throughout the 2024 construction season. Activities include, but are not limited to, concrete curb & gutter patching, installation of new or replacement concrete curb & gutter, concrete sidewalk patching, installation of new or replacement concrete sidewalk, and other related activities deemed necessary by the Engineering and/or Public Works department. Project sizes and locations will vary and can be located anywhere within CBRM jurisdiction. Therefore, unit costs shall be provided on a "per division" basis (i.e. Central, East, and North). Projects will include both capital upgrades as well as operational maintenance and repairs. Due to the variability of this work, the contractor's work crew availability is crucial to successfully performing said work. The specific availability requirements are outlined within the contract documents. Estimated Duration of Contract (months) 9 Each tender must be accompanied by a certified cheque payable to the Cape Breton Regional Municipality or a Bid Bond on CCDC Form 220 for ten (10) percent of the tendered sum. A Performance Bond in the amount of fifty (50) percent contract price and Labour and Material Payment Bond in the amount of fifty (50) percent of the contract price will be required upon notification of award and before the signing date of the contract or issue of the Purchase Order
