As of May 24, 2024, project was awarded to Sarver Paving Co., with an awarded amount of $439,198.80. The Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for the base bid is $510,000 as of March 2024. Questions shall be directed to the Public Works Coordinator via email to jpomerich@willardohio.gov or Dan Thornton, P.E., City Engineer to dthornton@willardohio.gov Bidders are required to file with their Bid Bond in the amount of 100% of the bid or a certified check, a cashier's check, or a letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305 of the Ohio Revised Code in the amount of 10% of the bid. The proposal bond or certified check submitted with the bid will be held as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into. Proposal bonds and certified checks will be returned to all Bidders after the contract has been entered into and secured by a performance bond for 100% and payment bond for 100% of the contract with a satisfactory surety for the faithful performance of the work. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the bid opening. The City of Willard, Ohio intends to accept the lowest and best bidder for the project but reserves the right to reject any and all, or parts of any or all bids and to waive any minor informalities in any bid, or to make the award in the best interest of the City. It is anticipated that the Ohio Public Works Notice to Proceed will be received the first or second week of July 2024 at which time the contract agreement can be signed. Project start date would be on August 12.
