As of May 14,2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. In general, the work consists of: the temporary shoring of the east end of the south elevation and corner of Old Music Hall on the University of Wisconsin Madison campus. This building is a historically significant building and work on this project must comply with the Secretary of Interior Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties for Preservation. Work includes the preparation of the site, the design of a temporary stabilization structure for an unreinforced multi-wythe masonry wall and spire that is not mechanically connected to the building. The foundations for this structure may consist of concrete deadmen or sonotube foundations or a combination thereof, depending on specific existing site features, utilities, and other constraints. The temporary shoring and foundations must be engineered and designed to meet the requirements noted in this set of documents. The solution must maintain safe and secure access through the doors at the east end of the south facade and the south end of the east facade. The solution must be designed to remain in place for a minimum of 24 months. The solution includes a program of monitoring consisting of the surveying of targets installed on the building facade as noted in this set of documents. Work includes localized removal of the site paving and vegetation and its restoration, including removal of all temporary concrete foundations, upon removal of the temporary shoring at the end of the project duration.
