Renovation of a water / sewer project in Parkville, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Public Notes: Bids shall be on a unit price basis for the Base Bid. The work generally includes: o Temporary bypass pumping, o Cleaning and lining existing pump station structures, o Removing and replacing one slide gate inside trash basket manhole, o Installing new retrofit hatch on grit chamber structure, o Replacing pump base elbows, guide-rails, and brackets, o Lifting out two existing submersible pumps, and re-installing on new base elbowswith new discharge adapters. o Replacing existing valves and pressure gage inside valve pit, adding valve and connection for bypass pump. o Removing existing terminal boxes and building new terminal boxes with concrete slab, including conduit modifications. o Removing existing motor control panel and installing new motor control panel inside building control room. o Modifying conduit and wiring inside building control room, and re-mounting two existing VFD's, o Surface restoration, clean-up, and other miscellaneous work. Unless otherwise stipulated, Contractor shall provide and pay for all Work (including labor, transportation, tools, equipment, machinery, plant and appliances) necessary to produce the results called for by the Contract Documents. 2. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for and have complete control and charge of construction means, methods, techniques, sequences and procedures, and for safety precautions and programs in connection with the Work. Neither the City nor the City Public Works Director shall be responsible for nor have control or charge over the acts or omissions of the Contractor, Subcontractors, or any of their agents or employees, or any other persons performing any of the Work. 3. In executing the Contract, the Contractor expressly covenants and agrees that, in the undertaking to complete the Work within the time therein fixed, it has taken into consideration and made allowances for all hindrances and delays incident to such Work, whether growing out of delays in securing materials, workers, typical weather conditions or otherwise. No charge shall be made by the Contractor for hindrances or delays from any cause during the progress of the Work, or any portion thereof, included in this Contract, except as provided elsewhere herein. 4. The Contractor shall comply with all City, County, State and Federal laws, ordinances or regulations which would in any way control the actions or operations of those engaged in the work under this Contract or which would affect the materials supplied to or by them. It shall at all times observe and comply with all ordinances, laws and regulations and shall protect and indemnify and defend the City and the City's officers and agents against any claims or liability arising from or based on any violation of same. Because the Project may involve federal funds, Contractor shall execute the affidavit attached to the Contract as Exhibit E, confirming its compliance with the prohibition against federal lobbying and conflicts of interest. 4. It is understood that all royalties and fees for and in connection with patents, or patent infringement, claims for materials, articles, apparatus, devices or equipment used in or furnished for the Work shall be included in the Contract Price. Final payment to the Contractor by the City shall not be made while any suit or claim involving infringement or alleged infringement of any patent remains unsettled. 5. The Contractor shall, in addition to the schedule required by these General Conditions, give to the City Public Works Director full information in advance as to its plans for carrying on any part of the Work. If at any time before the beginning or during the progress of the Work, any part of the Contractor's plant or equipment or any of its methods of executing the Work, appear to the City Public Works Director to be unsafe, inefficient or inadequate to ensure the required quality or rate of progress of the Work, the City Public Works Director may order the Contractor to increase or improve its facilities or methods, and the Contractor shall promptly comply with such orders; but neither compliance with such orders nor failure of the City Public Works Director to issue such orders shall relieve the Contractor from its obligation to secure the degree of safety, the quality of Work and the rate of progress required by the Contract. 6. The approval by the City Public Works Director of any plan, schedule or method of Work proposed by the Contractor shall not relieve the Contractor of any responsibility therefor, and such approval shall not be considered as an assumption by the City, or any officer, agent or employee thereof, of any risk or liability, and the Contractor shall have no claim under this Contract on account the of failure or inefficiency of any plan or method so approved. Such approval shall be considered and shall mean that the City Public Works Director has no objection to the Contractor's use or adoption, at the Contractor's own risk and responsibility, of the plan or method so proposed by the Contractor. 7. It is the intent of the City to supply the Contractor with a Sales and Use Tax Exemption certificate for use in purchasing materials and supplies on the Project. This documentation, a copy of which form is attached as Exhibit "F," must be signed and returned to the City upon completion of the Protect. Electrical Work in Control Room: Work Includes: Install locking kits on selected breakers in existing distribution panel MP. Demo existing control panel. Demo existing sections of conduit, and construct new sections of conduit and wire. Install new breaker in Panel MP for phase monitor connection. Re-mount existing variable frequency drives and connect conduits and wire. Install new sections of support strut as required, mounted to walls. Sort through existing wiring to terminal boxes, determine what will be re-used. Install new motor control panel, make terminations, commission new panel. Make as-built wiring diagram, review with Engineer. Note: New motor control panel to be furnished under separate unit price.
