Demolition, site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Webster Groves, Missouri. Completed plans call for the construction of a recreation facility; for the renovation of a stadium; playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and power facility.
Voters approved Proposition W on April 2, 2024. The city said it would build a new water park to replace the Aquatic Center, along with a number of walking paths and replacing the skate park while adding a new outdoor performance park. The Prop-W projects are following a unique construction process called "design-build." This process can be broken down into five main steps: team selection, project planning, design, bidding, and construction. These steps are not independent of one another as the project planning, design, and bidding phases may overlap. As seen with the new Water Park, construction may kick off while some of the project is still in the design phase. As of September 12, 2024, the project broke ground in late Spring and demolition fully underway, the new Water Park is set to open in the Summer of 2025. The Skate Park is currently being used as a staging area to support the Water Park's construction parking and material storage needs.
