Val Verde Unified School ("District") invites and will receive sealed bids ("Bid(s)") from licensed contractors ("Contractor(s)" or "Bidder(s)") for the furnishing to District of all labor, equipment, materials, tools, services, transportation, permits, utilities, and all other items necessary for the construction of ("Work"): Various portables at (7) school sites: Avalon ES, Manuel L. Real ES, March MS, May Ranch ES, Orange Vista HS, Rainbow Ridge ES, and Val Verde ES ("Project" or "Contract") Bids must be submitted on the District's forms, including the Bid Form. Each Bid must conform and be responsive to all pertinent Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the Instructions to Bidders. To Bid on this Project, each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to sections 7000 et seq. of the Business and Professions Code in the following classification(s) throughout the time it submits its Bid and for the duration of the Project. Each Bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or Bid Bond in favor of the District, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond (Labor and Materials) each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price on the forms included in the Contract Documents. The District reserves the right to either award the Contract as follows, in its sole and absolute discretion: (1) the Project and all Sites to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder based on the total base bid amount only; or (2) individual Site(s) to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder(s) based on the aggregate cost provided by the Bidder for each of the Site(s) as specified in the Bid Form. The District's Governing Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any Bid received. If the District awards the Contract, the security of unsuccessful bidder(s) shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made.
