Butler Elementary School, 90 White Street, Belmont MA, 02478 - complete replacement of Slate Roof. Estimated Cost $1,600,000.00 Sub Bid Category Painting OVERVIEW A. The school is comprised of four buildings and the associated connector. This scope of work occurs at one building only: 1. Building "B" - Original Building, Circa ~1900, Brick mass walls with granite window sills and foundation stones, limestone window sills, brownstone balcony, with brick dentil cornice and brick quoins. Slate roof on wood decking/sheathing and framing, with copper gutters and flashing. B. In general, the repairs shall include: Slate roof replacement, gutter replacement, flashing replacement, associated sealant replacement, repainting of new or patched wood trim, preparation and repainting of all remaining wood trim in the repair area (Alternate), and brick masonry repairs associated with flashing work. C. An asbestos containing materials (ACM) review has been completed of the sealants that will be affected by the work of this contract. All sealants that are called for removal shall be assumed to contain asbestos and will require appropriate abatement measures. D. All work must comply with all local codes and the current version of the Massachusetts State Building Code and Existing Building Code.
