Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) will be hosting a bid for Steel Poles for Electrical Engineering Projects. These are dodecagonal, direct-embedded, galvanized, steel poles. All information is available in the Evaluated Bid document. This is for a five year supply agreement. Please review the attached sample supply agreement. The winning vendor will be responsible for submitting approval drawings for KUB's approval before a purchase order is created. All bidders must bid a minimum of 95% of listed items. Failure to do so could result in bid rejection. In accordance with a TDOT clause, these poles are subject to the Buy America program. However, the Buy America program allows for steel from certain other countries to be used and are acceptable. A full list of these countries can be found by researching the TDOT policy. The estimated annual usage of poles is 80-150. KUB would move for a monthly or bi-monthly meeting with the winning vendor to discuss current orders, vendor manufacturing concerns, current market trends etc. This meeting would take place between various stakeholders within KUB, including our electrical engineering team, warehouse staff and procurement. The majority of deliveries will be received at KUB's main campus but they will occasionally need to be delivered to various pole yards across KUB's service area. KUB also requires a spec drawing for one 90' Class 6/H6 pole for the team to evaluate on specifics such as class/strength of steel, galvanization properties, type of proposed below-grade coating.
