Renovation of a fire / police facility in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, equipment and transportation necessary to complete repairs and refinish concrete bay floors located at the Mechanicsville Fire Company #7, 7161 Stonewall Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. The Contractor shall complete the following work at the fire station. The bay contains eight (8) overhead and two (2) pedestrian doors. The floor is approximately 65 feet wide by 70 feet long for a total of approximately 4,550 square feet of concrete. See Attachment D - Photographs for pictures of the bay floor. A. Remove the existing epoxy finish on the concrete bay floor. B. Grind and polish existing floor and make repairs to any existing cracks. C. Apply a protective non-slip finish to the bay floor. The finish must be appropriate for a Fire-EMS station, durable and capable of handling heavy equipment moving over the area on a regular basis. D. Apply stain (color to determined after award) to drive lanes outlined with yellow striping to assist with backing in large apparatus. The stripping must be permanent (not an adhesive-style application); yellow; 4 inches wide; and applied to both sides of the drive lanes. 91051 - Masonry, Concrete and Stucco Maintenance, Finishing and Repair Contractor Qualifications: The Contractor shall have extensive experience in commercial concrete floor repair with a minimum of five (5) years of experience with this type of work. Provide experience that meets this requirement on Attachment A - Vendor Data Sheet or attach additional information to identify experience. Start-up of Contract: Prior to contract start-up, the Contractor shall meet with the appropriate County staff to discuss responsibilities, schedule, and other parameters of the contract to avoid interference with normal operations. The location is an active fire station. Project Completion: Work can begin once the contract is awarded and start-up meeting has been conducted. All work must be completed within 30 days of the purchase order being issued. Location Where Service Hanover County, Virginia Will be Provided: Fire Station 7, 7161 Stonewall Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA 23116 The County will make the award on a lump sum basis to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder. The County reserves the right to conduct any test it may deem advisable and to make all evaluations. The County also reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the procuring public body to be in its best interest. The County reserves the right to contract with firms not party to this contract for similar goods/services if it determines this is to be in its best interest.
