The Kent County Purchasing Division is soliciting bids for the Kent County Sheriff Complex Wastewater Screen Project. The work includes; A 8-foot diameter precast concrete wet well with two submersible centrifugal chopper pumps, force main to the 13'-4" x 36'-0" screen building that houses a spiral screen with 1/8" (3 mm) openings, a screen discharge line to an existing sanitary manhole, a building water service, electrical, site work, demolition, restoration, pumps and equipment start-up and training, and all related work. Kent County reserves the right to determine the response format or not respond, at its sole discretion. Each offer over $500,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by the Respondent and payable to County of Kent for 5% of the total amount of the offer. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds or Performance Bonds must file a certified dated copy of their Power of Attorney. A certified check, bank draft, cashier's check, or negotiable U.S. Government bond (at par value) may be submitted In lieu of a Bid Bond. Personal checks are NOT acceptable. Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100% of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract. The project consists of constructing a new wet well and a slab-on-grade support building located within the Kent County Sheriff Facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The locations of the proposed wet well and slab-on-grade building Based on the referenced drawing, the proposed wet well will consist of a 9.5-foot diameter circular structure that will bear about 20 feet below the existing ground surface at an approximate elevation 712.25 feet. Based on the reference drawing the existing ground surface elevation in the area of the proposed wet well is at an elevation of about 732 feet.
