This posting is to gauge interest from potential sources who may be interested in bidding on the project. The Subcontractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary to perform the following scope of work: SCOPE OF WORK: B050 Roof Replacement Project w/Options Base Scope: B050 Roof Replacement Option 1 - B050 Rooftop Guardrails Installation around Roof Access Option 2 - B050 Rooftop Guardrails Installation around Upper Roof Option 3 - B048 Roof Restoration This project involves the comprehensive replacement of the existing roof and there are three options which includes the installation of rooftop guardrails around roof access and around upper roof at Building 50 (B050), also known as the Computation Building and also restoration of Building 48 (B048) roof. Constructed in the mid-1970s, B050 features a steel frame structure with concrete shear walls and a roof supported by steel beams, totaling approximately 13,425 square feet across three sections. The objective is to address and rectify longstanding issues with leaks and drainage by replacing the aged roofing system with a new, robust solution that ensures durability and compliance with current standards. Restoration of Building 048's roof involves thorough debris removal, applying a new membrane and flashings, and enhancing safety with marked walkways. The project emphasizes compliance with safety and environmental standards and includes a 30-year QA warranty for a watertight roofing system. SLAC is seeking qualified and experienced General Contractors for the upcoming B050 Roof Replacement Project w/Options (Construction) RFP. Potential bidders will need to meet all necessary criteria outlined in Step 1 Qualification Submittals contained in Section L of the DRAFT RFP. A partial list of the criteria outlined in Step 1 of Section L include the following: o A current and valid California Contractor's License o A local office in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA for a minimum of three years o Experience working at Department of Energy (DOE) and/or Department of Defence (DOD) Facilities o Documented experience managing Construction projects of a comparable size o Previous experience executing projects in the field of demolition, commercial roofing/re-roofing, and utilities executed in the past 5 years in and around the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC) is operated by Stanford University as a contractor for the United States Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (SC). SLAC supports a large national and international community of scientific users performing innovative research in support of the DOE mission. Success of that mission is directly coupled to the general-purpose infrastructure necessary to conduct this research. At SLAC, the accomplishment of that mission is currently at risk given sub-standard buildings that do not provide the appropriate environment to conduct world-class science or the supporting Management and Operations (M&O) functions. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time
