The Contractor shall read and fully comprehend every aspect of the contract provisions included in this bid proposal, prior to submitting a bid for the project. Any questions prior to bid submittal should be directed to Matthew Schultze, P.E., Subdivision Engineer, at (316) 268-4235 or mschultze@wichita.gov Start Date. The work order on these projects shall be issued 30 (thirty) calendar days after the date on which the contract for these projects has been awarded to the successful bidder. Completion Date. The work on these projects shall be completed within 40 (forty) total for all 4 projects working days from the date of beginning work for all projects and in accordance with the plans and Standard Specifications. Working days will be charged as provided for in the Standard Specifications, once the work order is issued. The non-availability of material shall not prevent working days from being assessed. Basis of Payment. Payment for the bid items will be as a lump sum/measured quantity amount based on the bid quantities and unit prices in the bid proposal. Deadline for Questions. For comments that affect bid items and/or quantities: Noon Tuesday prior to bid opening. For questions and comments requiring clarification only: Noon Wednesday prior to bid opening. Utility Relocation. The purpose of this bid item is to reimburse the Contractor for the services of the utility company or their preferred vendor to relocate their utilities. In order to be eligible for payment of this item, the Contractor must submit vendor invoices to the Project Engineer. Reimbursement will be paid for at the actual cost of the work. A change in cost from the expected cost, as stated in the note on sheet 2.1 of the paving project plans, will be adjusted by change order accordingly after the completion of work. A bid item unit price different than the value stated on sheet 2.1 of the paving project for a Utility Relocation bid item will cause the bid to be rejected. 6. Utility Relocation Coordination. The purpose of this bid item is to reimburse the Contactor for their coordination efforts with the utility company or their preferred vendor. All labor, material, and equipment associated with coordination shall be subsidiary to this bid item.
