Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: This project consists of the repair of concrete panel sections in the City of Lake Jackson. The Contractor will be required to provide mobilization, to remove and dispose of all damaged materials, to provide all materials for a stabilized subgrade, to provide materials needed to replace the panel sections, curbs, and sidewalks as designated to grade, and to provide any traffic control and inlet protections as needed. The deadline to ask questions is 4/12/2024 12:00 PM CST All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the Engineer The required bid documents (One Marked Original & One Marked Copy) in a sealed envelope are (1) Proposal (2) Bid Form (3) Statement of Experience of Bidder (4) Bid Bond or Cashier's Check (5) Non-Collusion Affidavit (6) Contractor's Eligibility Form. Please label your envelope with the Project Title and Project Number. If you are mailing or using a delivery service, be sure to use the City Hall address (25 Oak Drive, Lake Jackson, TX 77566). If you choose to deliver the envelope in-person, be sure to stop at the cashier's desk, so that they can time and date stamp the envelope. The City of Lake Jackson reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Jackson for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidders qualifications prior to the contract award. Liquidated Damage. Provisions for liquidated damages are set forth in the Agreement. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Lake Jackson or negotiable US Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the Engineer. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. The location of the work site lies within the right-of-way of existing streets, City easement or property. The Contractor shall have limited, but not exclusive, access to the site. Existing water, sewer, gas and electrical may lie within the work area and to be marked by the City. The owner, the City of Lake Jackson, has waived the cost of city issued permits required to perform the work. Contractor will be required to make the necessary application for a permit.
