The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting bids from qualified contractors to upgrade approximately 3,875 linear feet of Knik Knack Mud Shack Road. Questions Due Date: Apr 11th, 2024, 5:00 PM AKDT This projects purpose is to upgrade approximately 3,875 linear feet of Knik Knack Mud Shack Road. The project will upgrade the existing unpaved road to MSB residential standards and pave. This project will involve, but is not limited to, clearing, grubbing, 9,750 cubic yards of Unclassified Excavation, 10,800 tons of Borrow, Type B, 6,650 tons of Borrow, Type IIA, 1,850 tons of Aggregate Base Course, Grading D-1, 1,150 tons of Hot Mix Asphalt, Type II; Class B, installing drainage culverts and relocating existing signs. Additional items include topsoil and seeding. The project area is located off S. Knik Goose Bay Road approximately 11 miles southwest of the Parks Highway in the Wasilla, Alaska. See project location and vicinity maps. All construction shall be completed in accordance with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (SSHC) 2017 Edition. Project specific special provisions are provided in the following sections. The requirements contained in these specifications and special provisions are hereby made a part of this solicitation and resultant contract.
