The City of Union City is accepting lump sum bids for the removal and replacement of (6) existing columns in the front of the Union City Police Department and (2) decorative columns in the rear of the Union City Police Department. Rear column work would include the removal of existing wooden decorative columns and disposal properly off site. Replacement with newly constructed wood columns of like design, these will be custom fabricated in place and painted along with caulking. Front column work would include the removal of existing structural columns and replace with 16"x16" standard smooth aluminum columns with cap and base. Proper disposal of existing columns off site along with protecting the front sidewalk and lawn area and repair or replacement of areas during construction. All bids will be received and ultimately awarded to the bidder with the most applicable bid provided that the City shall have the power to reject any and all bids for any reason deemed necessary by the City. Bid is for the period March 27, 2024 and ending April 10, 2024. A certificate of liability insurance must be presented with the bid in the minimum amount of $1,000,000 limit for each occurrence with workers compensation and employer's liability. A bid bond of 5% of the bid amount must be presented with the bid as well. Upon award of contract, a payment and performance bond in the amount of 100% of bid shall be submitted to the City as specified by T.C.A. 12-4-201. Builder is to provide the City Builders Risk Coverage.
