Pebble Quicklime and Tekkem Slaker Quicklime The City of Austin (City) seeks to establish a contract with a qualified Contractor(s) to provide Pebble Quicklime and Tekkem Slaker Quicklime (known as Calcium Oxide). This specification provides for gradations of crushed and screened quicklime for treating and softening the City's municipal water supplies. The Contractor shall be a manufacturer, authorized dealer/reseller, or supplier of the product offered. Due to the importance of some chemicals to operate the City's water systems, the City reserves the right to award contracts to primary and secondary vendors to supply necessary chemicals in the event of an emergency or as a need arises to maintain a constant supply of chemicals to meet our production needs in the event the primary vendor can't supply an adequate amount of chemicals, the City will reach out to any contracted secondary vendors to provide chemicals using current catalog pricing and emergency delivery pricing and source using a best value approach for the City. Any items or services omitted from this specification that are clearly necessary or in conformance with services/goods shall be considered a requirement, although not directly specified or called for in the scope of work. TERMS OF CONTRACT: This Contract shall remain in effect for an initial term of 36 months or the City terminates the Contract . This Contract may be extended beyond the initial term for up to two (2) twelve (12) month periods at the City's sole option.
