The Project includes the following Work: 1. Construction of a new 1,200 GPM well in the Jordan Aquifer, Well No. 10. 2. All required development and testing of the well. 3. Site work including clearing and grubbing of trees as shown in the Drawings and grading of the finished site with positive drainage within 15 feet of the wellhead. 4. All other Work shown in the Drawings and called for in the Specifications. The Work shall be performed at 703 Broad St, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Est. Completion Date: Nov. 30, 2024 All bids must be filed in the office of the City Clerk before the time herein set on forms furnished by the Owner, and must be enclosed in a separate sealed envelope and plainly identified. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, and in the amount of 5% of the total amount ofthe bid, as specified in the Bidding Documents, as security that ifawarded a contract, the bidder will enter into a contract at the prices bid and furnish the required performance and payment bonds and Certificate of Insurance The successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds acceptable to the Owner on forms provided in the specifications in amounts equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Work on the improvement shall commence within 30 days after the Effective Date of the Contract, or on the day indicated in the Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed will be issued upon approval of the contract and bonds by the City Council. The workshall be substantially completed on or before November 30, 2024, and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before December 31,2024. Failure to meet eitherthe Substantial Completion date or Final Completion date will result in the assessment of liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000.00 per calendar day. The Owner hereby reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
